Benfica's 2020-21 home shirt by adidas keeps red at the centre of the design, with black shoulder stripes and black Emirates Fly Better lettering providing the main contrast. Gold-coloured details on the adidas logo and club crest add a different accent to the chest. A V-neck and a largely plain body give the shirt a clean outline, while the Sagres sponsor appears across the upper back. The combination of red, black and gold sets this edition apart within Benfica's home-shirt history.

The season marked Jorge Jesus's return to Benfica after his earlier spell from 2009-10 to 2014-15. The club presented the new adidas shirts at Benfica Campus, with players including Pizzi, Jardel and Grimaldo taking part in the launch.
