Under the leadership of Sinisa Mihajlovic, Bologna pieced together a solid 2020-21 Serie A campaign, finishing 12th with 41 points. The Rossoblu spent much of the season hovering around 11th and 12th place, a season defined as much by resilience off the pitch as results on it.
Mihajlovic guided the team that season while continuing to manage his health following his 2019 leukaemia diagnosis and subsequent treatment, having returned to the touchline after his bone marrow transplant.
