This Adidas Germany away shirt comes from the 2020-21 international period. The design uses an all-black base, with the German crest and Adidas logo also rendered in black for a tonal appearance. Colour is concentrated at the sleeve cuffs, which draw on the black, red and gold of the national flag. The restrained palette gives the away shirt a markedly different identity from Germany’s traditional white home design.

Germany wore this away cycle during the delayed UEFA EURO 2020 tournament. Joachim Löw’s side emerged from a demanding group containing France, Portugal and Hungary, with a 4-2 victory over Portugal proving decisive. Their campaign ended in the round of 16 when England won 2-0 at Wembley through late goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane. The tournament was Löw’s final competition after 15 years as head coach, with Hansi Flick taking over afterward.
