This Adidas Japan home shirt comes from the 2014-15 international period. The deep-blue body carries tonal geometric bands around the federation crest, with white Adidas shoulder stripes and bright pink-red sleeve cuffs. A matching brushstroke runs across the upper back and shoulders, while the front combines the Japan crest, national flag and contrasting Adidas marks.

Japan entered the 2015 AFC Asian Cup as defending champions under Javier Aguirre. They won all three group matches without conceding, beating Palestine 4-0, Iraq 1-0 and Jordan 2-0. Their title defence ended in the quarter-final against the United Arab Emirates: Gaku Shibasaki equalised in the 81st minute, but Japan lost the shoot-out 5-4 after a 1-1 draw.
