FC Twente finished third in the 2023-24 Eredivisie, securing a place in UEFA Champions League qualifying for the following season. Joseph Oosting achieved that result in his first campaign as head coach. The finish earned him a nomination for the Rinus Michels Award for professional football coach of the season. All head coaches in Dutch professional football voted to decide the award winner at the National Coaches Congress.
