CommentA few small pulls on the back

Nike's 2019-20 Wolfsburg home shirt replaces a plain green front with fine neon-green lines that meet around the Volkswagen sponsor. The darker base makes the angular graphic especially prominent. On the reverse, WOLFSBURG sits above the large number 7, with BREKALO printed below. The player detail is part of this example, but the graphic treatment is what gives the shirt its distinctive character.

Wolfsburg competed in the Bundesliga and Europa League during 2019-20. Josip Brekalo was part of an attack that also featured Wout Weghorst, while Oliver Glasner was in his first season as head coach. The campaign ultimately continued after the spring interruption to European football. This shirt reflects a club pursuing a place among Germany's European contenders at the start of Glasner's tenure.
